New Partner Joins Sudbury Physiotherapy Centre

Nicola-1We are very excited to announce that we have a new managing partner! Nicola Stephens has joined Sudbury Physiotherapy Centre, replacing outgoing partner Uschi Grounds.

Nicola graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1997 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy. She initially worked for the NHS in Leeds, West Yorkshire specialising in musculoskeletal and rheumatology physiotherapy, before opening Performers Physiotherapy in 2003, which is based within Performers College, one of the country’s leading performing arts colleges. Nicola gained her MACP qualification in 2005, and her MSc in 2011 and has developed her role as a dance injury specialist at one of the country’s leading performing arts training institutions, physiotherapy lecturer and researcher since then. Nicola brings a ‘high profile’ touch to Sudbury as her research projects on injury screening have been presented internationally – she is also a sought after lecturer on injury prevention & management.

Nicola’s role will initially be mainly managerial and concerned with expanding our range of services, but she is looking forward to getting involved in the clinical side of the centre later in the year.

Later this year Nicola is scheduled to present at the international VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association) annual conference, this year in London, and at the IADMS (International Association of Dance Medicine and Science) annual conference, this year in Basel, Switzerland

This appointment also marks the transition of Sudbury Physiotherapy Centre into a family run business, as Leon & Nicola have been married since 2003, and have already established a successful clinic together at Performers Physiotherapy in Thurrock.

The rest of our fabulous team here at Sudbury Physiotherapy Centre remains unchanged, and we all wish Uschi the very best with her future endeavours.
