Nutritional Therapy

Emma Jamieson is a registered Nutritional Therapist and a member of BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).

Nutritional Therapy is ‘the application of nutrition science to promote health’. It is recognised as a complementary medicine and can be used to support a wide range of chronic conditions, as well as by anyone looking to enhance their health and wellbeing.

In the initial consultation Emma uses a variety of tools – a detailed questionnaire, further discussion and, when appropriate, functional testing – to build up a thorough case history. This enables her to assess and identify potential nutritional and lifestyle imbalances and understand how these may contribute to your symptoms and health concerns. Working together to agree a personalised diet and lifestyle plan, with goals that are achievable and realistic, food is the focus of any changes, with added supplementation when required. In subsequent consultations the initial recommendations will be reviewed, assessed and built upon to further address your symptoms and concerns. Achievable, realistic goals are at the core of Emma’s approach – food should be a joy, not a chore!

It should be noted that Nutritional Therapy is never recommended as a replacement for medical advice and Emma will always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their GP. She will also frequently work alongside medical professionals and will contact healthcare professionals involved in the your care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.
